IMPORTANCE AND BENEFITS OF PSYCHOMOTRICITY:
The psychomotricity room is a space created for children, in which to roll, turn, walk, balance, build, destroy, scream, laugh, etc. These are activities that produce pleasure and that are directed to the development of his corporal scheme and the construction of his own identity, but it is also a means that allows the personal development in two aspects: the intellectual and the affective, because the movement and the expression body allows the work of cognitive functions: attention, memory, concentration and expression of emotions, the development of self-esteem and overcoming our fears.
The studies of Aucouturier, a French psychomotrist, have found a close relationship in the emotional-cognitive spheres and proposes that the psychomotor practice be performed in a pleasant environment, in which the child experiences the pleasure of being oneself and feeling well, affirms that “Motor expressivity is the way each child has to manifest the pleasure of being himself, of building himself in an autonomous way and of manifesting the pleasure of discovering and knowing the world around him”.
What are truly the unknown pleasures in psychomotricity?
There are 3 expressive levels through which the child expresses and projects his deep history through the exploration and manipulation of the different materials found in the psychomotor room.
Level 1. Internal sensations of the body, linked to the labyrinth system.
A pleasure to press Pleasure to push Pleasure to rotate, turn and swing. The pleasure of falling, of the balance, of conquering the height, of the unification of the two sides of the body, of the jump in-depth, of jumping on the hard Situations of regression, of walking and running.
Level 2. Experiences of pleasure-displeasure, images and experiences that occurred from the encounter with the gaze of the other:
Placer de entrar y salir, aparecer y desaparecer de la mirada del otro. Placer de esconderse para sentir de forma más profunda la emoción del movimiento. Placer de desordenar.
Level 3. Appearance of the “as if”, which translates into the proliferation of symbolic games and organized or sociomotrices games. The symbolic game
The child’s ability to put himself in the place of another character, that is, to stop being him to be someone else. He has become aware of his self and has been able to differentiate himself from others. It shows how it is situated and is introjecting the world around it. They also serve as compensation for their more personal needs, desires and conflicts. They express a first intellectual operation, which indicates their ability to move from the imaginary to the symbolic and from the symbolic to the real. The pleasure of thinking Linked to activities such as relating experiences, understanding the stories or stories that explain, draw, build, model, … At this time the use of language is essential because it puts distance from the movement and emotions necessary for it to be can then “think”.
THE FUTURE PSYCHO-MOTORISTS HAVE TO EXPERIENCE THESE SAME LEVELS OF EXPRESSION.
THUS IN THE FUTURE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO MEET THE CHILD WITH ADEQUATE BODY AVAILABILITY. THEY WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO GIVE AN OBJECTIVE AND CONSISTENT SIGNIFICANCE TO THE PRODUCTIONS OF THE CHILD.
A TRUE DIALOGUE IS ESTABLISHED THERE, WHERE THE BODY IS THE MOST PRECIOUS TOOL.
